NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's ice hockey team lost a difficult NESCAC road game on Saturday afternoon as the Cardinals were defeated by in-state rival Connecticut College, 2-1.
With the loss, Wesleyan is now 9-8-0 overall and 5-6-0 in conference play. The Camels improved to 9-7-1 and 5-5-1.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- After a scoreless first period, the home team got on the board midway through the second as Paul Capozzi and Kyle Moss assisted on a goal by Steven Senese.
- The Cardinals entered the third period down 1-0.
- Roughly six minutes in, the visitor's evened the score as Tyler Wyatt found the back of the net. He was assisted by Quincy Gregg and Tyler Levine.
- However, seven minutes later, Ryan Petti tallied the game-winner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Wesleyan goaltender Tim Sestak made 22 saves.
- Connor Rodericks picked up the win in net for the Camels as he made 35 stops.
- Wesleyan outshot Connecticut College 36-24.
