Women's Squash Hosts NESCAC Championships

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's squash team hosted the NESCAC Championships this weekend, defeating Connecticut College in the first round by a score of 9-0, but ultimately falling to Williams in the quarterfinals, 8-1. The Cardinals picked up another victory in the consolation matches, defeating Bowdoin (7-2) while also falling to Tufts (8-1).

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • No. 1 Aditi Prasad, No. 2 Ananya Vir, No. 3 Josephine Russ, and No. 6 Nina Premutico each swept their match against Conn. College.
  • No. 9 Emma Smith defeated Noelle Giuliano of Conn. College in a hard fought battle by a score of 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 8-11, 11-9.
  • No. 1 Aditi Prasad went to five matches in her victory over Julia Ward of Williams, winning by a score of 9-11, 11-8, 8-11, 16-14, 13-11.
  • No. 5 Natasha Feenstra defeated Diya Sanghi of Tufts in a back and forth affair by a score of 9-11, 11-4, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8.
  • No. 4 Valeria Osorio swept her match against Sophie Barber of Bowdoin by a score of 11-7, 11-8, 11-8.
  • No. 5 Natasha Feenstra, No. 6 Nina Premutico, No. 7 Sofia Melian-Morse, and No. 9 Emma Smith also swept their matches against Bowdoin.
