BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Dartmouth fifth year senior quarterback Derek Kyler and Wesleyan senior quarterback David Estevez are this week's recipients of the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Awards presented by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Kyler, a native of DeKalb, Ill. and a graduate of DeKalb High School, completed 18-of-23 pass attempts for a career-high 324 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Big Green's 38-24 victory at 23rd-ranked New Hampshire that gave Dartmouth its first win in Durham in 52 years. Estevez, a native of River Edge, N.J. and a graduate of River Dell Regional High School, broke a 32-year school record with 474 yards of total offense (270 passing, 204 rushing) and accounted for three total scores that included the game-winning touchdown in the closing minutes of the Cardinals' 36-35 triumph at Tufts.

For the seventh straight year, the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation is the presenting sponsor for both the weekly and end-of-year Gold Helmet Awards presented to student-athletes from FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III institutions throughout New England.
