CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – A tremendous season for the Wesleyan men's tennis team came to an end on Saturday at the NCAA Doubles Tournament as
Noah Lilienthal '22 and
Ben Mitchell '24 were defeated in the quarterfinal round.
The Cardinal duo were toppled by Will Leach and Luke Lemaitre of George Fox by a score of 6-3, 6-3, ending the run made by Wesleyan's top doubles team in the national quarterfinals. For the season, Lilienthal and Mitchell were 6-2 together as a team including a 5-1 mark as Wesleyan's #1 pairing in dual matches during the shortened spring campaign.
Their win over Scott Altmeyer and Abhi Ramireddy in the first round of the doubles tournament secured an All-American honor for Lilienthal and Mitchell. This is the second such honor of Lilienthal's career as he advanced to the national final as a first-year in 2019.
