HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Wesleyan came out the aggressor, producing seven shots in the first six minutes but were unable to but through a goal. After struggling to create scoring chances in the opening minutes, the Mules suddenly had a golden opportunity when Drew Burke found Brian Sanzone. Sanzone beat Wesleyan's goalkeeper Erik Voloshin '24 and put Colby on the board seven minutes in
  • For the next eight minutes Colby ramped the pressure up, looking for an early insurance goal. They manufactured six shots on back-to-back power play chances without a goal. Wesleyan turned it around and had a few shots on goal before Colby's John McElaney scored to put the Mules up by two goals
  • Wesleyan came out and immediately put one in the back of the net less than three minutes into the 2nd. After two shots by Jake Lachance '23 were turned away, it was Tiger Bjorlund who managed to cut the deficit to one
  • After the goal, it seemed like Wesleyan had gained the momentum. A Colby penalty gave the Cardinals a golden opportunity to tie the game late in the 2nd. Emmet Powell '23 had both of his shot attempts during the power play turned away. Colby then turned the tables and scored a short-handed goal thanks to Jack Sullivan who followed up a shot by Griffin Grise
