MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's squash team split a pair of weekend matches at home from the Rosenbaum Squash Center. The Cardinals defeated Conn. College 8-1 on Saturday before falling to No. 20 nationally-ranked Bowdoin 8-1 on Sunday.
Jack Lungstrum '25 led the Wesleyan (3-5) lineup with two wins over the weekend.
Wesleyan 8, Conn. College 1 | Results
- Toby Goldston '24 held off MD Jawad at #2, as the match went into a fifth set at 6-11, 11-6, 11-3, 7-11 before Goldston came up with a 11-9 win in the tiebreak
- John Sutherby '23 won convincly in the second and fourth sets to power past Ryan Mach 11-8, 11-2, 8-11, 11-3
- Ethan Yan '25 (#3), Andrew Doucette '22 (#6), Lungstrum (#7) and Cole Zetterquist '24 (#8) won their respective matches by 3-0 decisions
- Preston Crawford '25 made it an 8-1 win for the Cardinals at #5 as he was locked in a battle with Alexander Lorenzo-Cruz, falling behind 2-1 in sets at 12-10, 8-11, 9-11 before coming back to win the fourth and fifth sets 11-5, 11-6 to take the match

- Lungstrum was the lone winner for Wesleyan on Sunday as he defeated Neil Bam at #8 in a convincing 3-0 sweep at 11-5, 11-7, 11-6
- Goldston (#3) and Sutherby (#4) each won a set in their respective matches
The Cardinals host both Amherst (11 AM) and No. 16 Williams (4 PM) next Saturday for Little 3 matches. Williams has won the Little 3 in 21 consecutive seasons (since 1999-00).
