NEW LONDON, CT. – Wesleyan field hockey was defeated 7-4 by Connecticut College Tuesday afternoon in their regular season finale. It was a high-scoring affair that went back-and-forth throughout the first half, before the Camels gained control of the contest in the final 30 minutes to put the Cardinals away. Wesleyan's four goals is the most they have scored in a loss this season, and seven goals allowed is tied for the most they have given up this year. The Cardinals drop to 4-11 (1-9 NESCAC). Connecticut College wins their final regular season game of the season to improve to 5-10 (2-8 NESCAC).

Both teams got on the board early, scoring within the first five minutes of this one. The Cardinals struck first just three minutes in, with Diana Schwarz '23 as she began her big day. Schwarz beat Camels goalie Sadie Abuhaidar to put the Cards up one. The Camels came right back with a goal of their own just one minute later to even the score. Rowan Galanis found Bridgit McGann for the goal.

Wesleyan mustered 10 shots in the second period alone, but they only scored once in the first 14 minutes of the 2^nd, and it came off of a penalty stroke by Diana Schwarz. Schwarz capitalized on the scoring opportunity for her 2^nd score of the game, but once again their lead didn't last long. The Camels added two goals within a minute and a half of each other midway through the period to retake the lead 3-2. Wesleyan ended the final five minutes of the 2^nd quarter with seven corners and seven shots with the last of which connecting with the back of the cage right before the halftime buzzer. This time it was Annabel Cincotta '25 off the assist by Imani Ochieng '25 to even the score before halftime.

In the second half it was all Camels. They outshot the Cardinals 5-1 in the third period, leading to two more goals for their largest lead of the contest thus far. Connecticut College opened up the fourth with more of the same, scoring two more goals in the opening minutes of the quarter, before Wesleyan was able to squeak one by before the final buzzer rang.

Diana Schwarz will end her senior season with 12 goals, which finishes good for top five in the NESCAC. She also added an assist in this one to add to her point total of 29 which will also finish top five in the conference. Cincotta and Helen Deretchin '25 add their 5^th and 4^th goals respectfully while Ochieng contributes her 4^th assist. Audrey Pace '26 and Athena Vadnal '25 split time in goal, making a combined three saves on the day.

Wesleyan finishes their season with a 4-11 record (1-9 NESCAC), placing them tied for 10^th in the conference.
