Kade Doverspike claims the Cardinals' third NESCAC POW honoree of the year as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Doverspike wins the Cardinals' first NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week in 2022.
Doverspike claims the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week award for the first time in his career. The junior linebacker made the play of the game for the Cardinals, blocking a first quarter punt into the end zone where it was recovered by
Nerdo Moreau '24 for a Wesleyan touchdown. The touchdown would be the only one the Cardinals would get in regulation, eventually adding a second touchdown in overtime to down Amherst 13-7. Doverspike added four total tackles and an assist on defense.
Wesleyan improves to 5-2 in 2022 with their homecoming game coming next Saturday against Williams. The game will also serve as the Salute to Service game.
