MIDDLETOWN.CT.- The Wesleyan football team had two players named to the All-Region Team by D3football.com, with Logan Tomlinson '23 and Nick Helbig '23 claiming yet another post-season honor. The awards are given out by D3football.com, a website that has been putting out All-Region teams for Division lll football players for 18 years now. The players on the list were nominated by the school's Sports Information Directors, who vote on the athletes along with members of the D3football.com staff. Tomlinson and Helbig earned second team All-Region for Region 1. All members of the All-Region teams are eligible to be considered for the D3football.com All-America Team which will be announced on December 16^th.

Tomlinson continues to earn honors, claiming a spot on D3football.com's second team All-Region Team for Region 1. The senior wide receiver was incredible in his final year with the Cardinals, reeling in 72 catches for 972 yards and 10 touchdowns. He finished second in the NESCAC in receiving yards and 3^rd in receiving touchdowns. Along with his 10 touchdown catches, he managed a TD through the air on a 22-yard connection on a trick play. He had four 100-yard receiving games, and seven with at least one touchdown. His most impressive outing came against Little Three foe Williams, tallying 210 yards on 12 catches and two touchdowns. In his two seasons in a Wesleyan uniform, he has put together 1,826 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Helbig has been an impact player for the Cardinals since coming into Wesleyan back in 2019. The senior defensive tackle earns D3football.com second team All-Region recognition after yet another year of dominance. Helbig has been a force again in 2022, notching his second straight NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year honor after placing top three in the conference in a multitude of defensive statistics including: sacks (8), forced fumbles (5), and tackles for loss (11.5). His five forced fumbles were first in all of Division III, also adding in 39 tackles (20 solo). Helbig ends his Wesleyan career as one of the most decorated football players ever, earning NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2019, along with three All-NESCAC honors, and two NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year nods.
