Peter Anker '22 of the Wesleyan men's tennis team saw his NCAA Tournament run come to an end as he fell in the Quarterfinal round of the Singles Championship. Anker capped an incredible senior campaign becoming the first Cardinal in team history to reach the Quarterfinal stage of the NCAA Singles Tournament.
Facing Joshi Vishnu of Johns Hopkins in the Quarterfinals on Saturday morning, Anker dropped the first set 6-2 before bouncing back with a 6-2 second set win. The deciding third set was close in the beginning before Vishnu rolled with a 5-0 run to close out a 6-1 victory in the third.
Anker finished his senior year with a singles record of 17-6 (12-3 in dual matches) and earns ITA All-American honors for his advancement to the Quarterfinal round of the national tournament.
