MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – In a near-flawless win, the Wesleyan men's squash team dropped just two total games in a 9-0 sweep of Fordham on Saturday morning from the Rosenbaum Squash Center. Wesleyan (6-5) are now winners of six straight matches while Fordham (13-6) sees their three-match win streak snapped.
Three Cardinals made their first appearance in the lineup this season, as
Cole Zetterquist '24,
Sebastian Kulkarni '23, and
Kevin Angulo '24 all picked up 3-0 victories Zetterquist defeated Nicholas Choo 11-5, 11-5, 11-3 at #7 while Kulkarni dropped just 11 points in a 11-3, 11-3, 11-5 win at #8 over Caleb Schumacher and Angulo won convincingly 11-5, 11-1, 11-8 at #9 over Aarav Jhunjhunwala.
At the top of the lineup, it was
Abhinav Gupta '25 taking down Nicholas Gilman 11-2, 11-8, 11-8 at #1.
Ethan Yan '25,
Morgan Shatzman '25, and
Preston Crawford '25 all took care of business with 3-0 sweeps in the #3 through #5 spots in the lineup.
Toby Goldston '24 and
Milo Supasorn '23 were tested in their matchups, both of whom lost their opening sets at #2 and #6, respectively. However, both managed to battle back and rattle off three straight games as Goldston won 9-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 and Supasorn was victories 7-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-5.
