PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Wesleyan men's squash team dropped a 7-2 decision at Brown on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals are 6-9 on the season heading into their final home match on Sunday while the Bears move to 8-9 in 2022-23.
In a competitive match on many courts, the Cardinals managed wins at #4 from
Shanay Sanghavi '23 over Raphael Benamran as well as
Jack Lungstrum '25 securing a 3-2 win at #8 over Vedant Gupta.
Wesleyan dropped three matches that were decided in either four or five sets, as
Toby Goldston '24 nearly completed the comeback before falling 3-2 at #5 (11-3, 11-8, 7-11, 11-13, 11-2).
Preston Crawford '24 gave Sam Devorsetz a tough match at #9 (3-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-8) while
John Sutherby '23 also fell in four sets (12-10, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8) at #3.
Ethan Yan '25 gave Will McLaren a tough match at #6, despite the 3-0 final score. Yan forced both the second and third sets into extra points (13-11, 19-17).
The Cardinals play host to Hamilton on Sunday at 1 PM in the final match of the season from the Rosenbaum Squash Center.
