Box Score VERO BEACH, Fla. – Eight unanswered goals, which extended to a 14-1 scoring run, proved more than enough to lead the No. 16 ranked Wesleyan men's lacrosse team past Salve Regina in a 19-7 win on Wednesday afternoon from the South County Park Field in a non-conference neutral site showdown.
 
The win marked the 300^th for head coach John Raba who is in his 27^th season at Wesleyan. He ranks 14^th in career wins among all active NCAA men's lacrosse coaches (9^th among all active NCAA Div. III coaches).
 
A bevy of Cardinals got involved in the scoring as 15 different players registered at least one point while seven had at least three points in a dominating win. Matt Gill '23 and Pat Doherty '23 tied for the team-lead with four points, as the duo each tallied two goals and two assists.
 
Justin Hazard '23 was among a group of five Cardinals with three-point games while his first goal of the game in the second quarter was the 100^th point of his career, becoming the 37^th Cardinal and the second this season (Gill) to reach the milestone.
 
The two sides were level at 2-2 after nearly eight minutes of play before the scoring barrage came in the form of an 8-0 run over the next 13+ minutes where goals came off the sticks of seven different Cardinals to put Wesleyan up 10-2 midway through the second quarter.
 
That scoring run continued into the second half as the Cardinals responded to a Salve goal with six more unanswered to build a 16-3 lead midway through the third before coasting to the 13-goal win.
 
Leading the defensive effort was Jared Cohen '25 who racked up a career-high five caused turnovers to go along with three ground balls and his first career goal. Nolan Collins '23 added four caused turnovers and four ground balls.
 
Colin Hanley '23 made eight saves in net with just three goals allowed in 35+ minutes of work, earning his third win of the season. Drew Skibniewski '23 came on and made five saves in 15+ minutes in relief.
 
Wesleyan returns home to prepare for a big NESCAC home matchup against Colby at 1:00 PM on Saturday. The Cardinals look to avenge a 10-9 loss to the Mules last season in Waterville.
