No. 4 Women’s Tennis Completes Undefeated Run in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – There was no stopping the No. 4 ranked Wesleyan women's tennis team on Thursday, as the Cardinals dispatched Denison 9-0. The Cardinals (8-0) completed a 4-0 week down in Florida, while extending their regular season match winning streak to 38 straight matches. The Big Red drop to 8-3 on the season.
 
The domination started in doubles play where the Cardinals lost just six total games in the three matches combined. Caitlyn Ferrante '23 and Nika Vesely '25 were first to finish, defeating Caroline Lopez and Monique Brual 8-2 at #2. Minutes later, Sasha Gaeth '23 and Kristina Yu '22 completed an 8-1 victory at #1 over Sydney Cianciola and Sarah Robertson. The Cardinals took a 3-0 lead into singles as Renna Mohsen-Breen '25 and Sarah Youngberg '26 finished off Peyton Oda and Kendall Schrader at #3 with an 8-3 win.
 
Singles play was totally one-sided as the Cardinals lost just two games in four of the six matches, with the remaining two matches seeing Denison win just four games in each. Leila Epstein '26 started with a 6-1, 6-1 win at #2 over Robertson while Yu, Mohsen-Breen, and Ferrante all won their respective matches by the same score line. Youngberg then defeated Lopez 6-4, 6-0 at #5 while Vesely finished off the sweep with a 6-1, 6-3 win at #1 over Cianciola.
 
Wesleyan returns home where they will prepare for a non-conference road match on Wednesday at No. 24 Brandeis for a 2:30 PM start.
