MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The No. 16 ranked Wesleyan men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 4 ranked and defending NESCAC Champions Middlebury on Sunday afternoon from the Nelson Recreation Center.

Middlebury swept all three doubles points but the Cardinals made the Panthers earn a couple of tough points at #1 and #2. JT Bilski '26 and Ben Mitchell '24 battled in a 8-6 loss at #1 against Noah Laber and Aidan Harris while Harry Collomb '26 and Chase Kasday '26 gave Neel Epstein and Robby Ward trouble before falling 8-5 at #2.

In singles play, the Panthers won in straight sets on five of the six courts, but Mitchell managed to fight back from one set down to earn a win at #2. After falling 6-3 in the opening set, Mitchell posted a 6-4 second set win and went on to take a 10-7 victory in the third set tiebreak to salvage one point in the team scoring for the Cardinals.
