WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Friday afternoon in a 5-1 loss to the top-seed Tufts in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. Wesleyan finishes the season with a 7-10 record while the Jumbos remain undefeated at 20-0.
Less than one week removed from facing the Jumbos in the regular season finale, the Cardinals managed to take a point off the nation's second-ranked team in the doubles portion.
Harry Collomb '26 and
Chase Kasday '26 combined for an 8-7 (7-5) win over Josh Belandres and Rishabh Sharda at #2. Tufts won both remaining doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles.
The Jumbos added to their lead with wins at #5 and #1 singles before the clinching point came from Alex Ganchev at #3 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Collomb.
Max Lustgarten '25 had just won the first set 7-6 against Lachie Macintosh at #6 before play was halted.
JT Bilski '26 was winning 3-2 in the second set of his match at #5 against Vuk Vuksanovic.
This marks the sixth straight season that Wesleyan has qualified for the NESCAC Tournament, after only making the postseason once before in team history prior to the current six-year run.
