NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's squash team earned a 8-1 victory playing at Connecticut College on Wednesday afternoon. The Cardinals (5-4) are winners of three of the past four matches while the Camels (3-5) have dropped three of their past four.
It was a dominant showing from the Cardinals who dropped just one match on the day, earning six of their eight wins by 3-0 sweeps.
Aanya Anand '26 took her match at #2 by a 3-0 decision over Mariam Anwar while
Mira Bakshi '26 won by the same score line at #3 over Isabel Schumacher. Also earning 3-0 sweeps was
Jaclyn Dichter '26 at #5,
Laila Kewalramani '24 at #6,
Julissa Mota '26 at #8, and
Marangela James '24 at #9.
Portia Pliam '25 fought for a 3-1 win at #4, defeating Ainsley Ellison 11-7, 7-11, 11-7, 11-6. Finally,
Leandra Sze '26 came from two sets down to defeat Crystal Dixon at #7 with a 8-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-1 triumph.
Next up for the Cardinals is a trip to Cambridge where they will face Mount Holyoke in a neutral site match at 5 PM on Tuesday.
