CLINTON, N.Y. – Entering the NESCAC Championship at #8, the Wesleyan women's squash team fell to top-ranked Trinity College in a 9-0 NESCAC quarterfinal sweep on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 9-6 on the season as Trinity advances to the NESCAC semifinal round.

With 3-0 sweeps down the lineup,
Aanya Anand '26 was the lone Cardinal to pick up a game win in the #3 slot. Facing Trinity's Fabiola Cabello, Anand fought her way out of a two-game deficit to force an extra round, winning game three 11-9. Cabello needed only one more win to take the 3-1 match and did so with a 11-5, 11-7, 9-11, 11-4 final.

Penelope Furnas '27 forced Varvara Kliueva to extra points in game three but ultimately fell 12-10 as Kliueva swept the match with a final score of 11-7, 11-5, 12-10.
The Cardinals continue their season with a match against Williams on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. before heading into the CSA Team Championships.
