MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Rebounding from a loss on Saturday morning, the Wesleyan women's squash team ran a 7-1 campaign against No. 24 Bates College on Sunday afternoon, stealing the victory with three match sweeps from inside the Rosenbaum Squash Center. Wesleyan advances to 9-4 as Bates falls to 4-5.

Cruising to victory in dominant fashion, the second half of the lineup cushioned the Cardinals for the extra points that followed as the match stretched into the early afternoon. At #6,
Leandra Sze '26 swept Neha Taneja with a 11-7, 11-2, 11-4 final. Running 11-2, 11-4, 11-1 at #7,

Caroline Caiati's '28 sweep of Andrew Perez 11-0, 11-2, 11-0 at #8.
Forced to extra games,
Katherine Risden '28 went five rounds with Angelina Amastal. Amastal held a 2-1 lead before Risden rallied two in a row for the 3-2 match win at 8-11, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-2. Leading the lineup at #1,
Mira Bakshi '26 fell into a two-game hole as Aasya Patel closed in but ran back games three, four, and five for a 3-2, 7-11, 8-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-7, upset.
At #3, Scarless Hine took a one-game lead over
Aanya Anand '26 but was dealt three losses in a row as Anand closed her 3-1 match win, 6-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-9. Extra points tilted in
Penelope Furnas's '27 favor in the #4 slot despite Savannah Thomas tying the match at one. Furnas won game three with 14 points before a 12-10 win gave way to a 3-1 match win at 11-5, 11-13, 14-12, 12-10.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7, when they face Tufts at 1 p.m.
