MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's squash team was defeated by No. 10 ranked Amherst in a 9-0 loss on Saturday from the Rosenbaum Squash Center. The Cardinals (8-4) see their five-match unbeaten run come to an end while the Mammoths (12-1) win their third straight Little Three title.
The Cardinals couldn't get much going against their Little Three counterparts, as Wesleyan lost all nine varsity matches by 3-0 scorelines.
Leandra Sze '26 won the most points on the day for any Cardinal, in her match at #6 against Katherine Grissom, winning 25 total points in a 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 loss.
Penelope Furnas '28 won 20 points at #4 while
Katherine Risden '28 won 19 points at #5.
Wesleyan celebrated its five-player senior Class of 2026 prior to the match as Sze,
Aanya Anand '26,
Mira Bakshi '26,
Jaclyn Dichter '26, and
Avika Pande '26 were all honored prior to the start of play.
The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday at Noon against No. 24 Bates in Middletown.
