CLINTON, N.Y. – Facing nationally ranked No. 17 Hobart College, the Wesleyan men's squash team fell 7-2 on Friday night.
Morgan Shatzman '25 and Zachary Idinopulos '26 led the team, picking up two match wins.
RESULTS
In the No. 7 spot, Shatzman went four games with Hobart's Marwan Hesham Ali to pull off the 4-1 match win. Shatzman won the first two games of the match 12-10 and 11-9 before falling in the third, 5-11. Shatzman picked off the final game at 12-10.
Idinopulos played a solid 39 minutes against Angel Ripolles Medina at No. 9 in a 3-2 back and forth match win. Idinopulos won the first game 11-7 before Medina came back and tied it with an 11-6 game win. Idinopulos took the lead with the third game win at 11-5 but Medina again tied the match up at two. The final game was an 11-4 win for Idinopulos.
Jack Lungstrum '25at No. 10 also picked up a 3-2 match win, going 7-11, 14-12, 8-11, 11-4, and 11-8 against Sayf Elhawary.
The squash team returns to the court on Saturday, Jan. 20, when they face Hamilton in NESCAC action beginning at 11 a.m.
