CLINTON, N.Y. – Despite a pair of five-set wins, the Wesleyan men's squash team couldn't get past the host Continentals as the Cardinals fell 6-3 to Hamilton on Saturday. Wesleyan drops to 4-8 on the season while Hamilton improves to 2-6.
The Cardinals landed wins at #3, #4, and #5, with
Abhinav Gupta '25 and
Dhairya Shah '27 landing 3-2 victories and
Ethan Yan '25 won his match in three sets.
In a match that lasted 58 minutes, Gupta had enough to defeat Jacob Shulman at #3 in a 3-2 win (11-13, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9, 11-5). Yan rolled passed Tobey Suratt at #4 in three sets, 11-6, 12-10, 11-3, picking up his first win of the season. Shah earned his 3-2 win at #5 over Nicholas Carabatsos, coming from two sets down to earn a hard fought win 6-11, 9-11, 11-3, 11-7, 11-3.
Hamilton claimed wins in the remaining six matches, including a pair of four set wins at #1 and #2 with
Nimai Kini '26 falling at #1 in a match that lasted 46 minutes while
Toby Goldston '24 was defeated at #2 in 38 minutes.
Wesleyan's busy weekend concludes tomorrow with a home match against Haverford at 11 AM.
