CLINTON, N.Y. – Rebounding from a loss the night before, the Wesleyan women's squash team roared back on Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 victory over NESCAC opponent Hamilton College as
Jaclyn Dichter '26 picked up her second win of the weekend from Hamilton's Little Squash Center.
RESULTS
The Cardinals (7-5 overall) made quick work of the Continentals as five of the seven match wins came in under 15 minutes. Dichter in the No. 5 slot swept Brooke Hoffman 3-0, going 11-1, 11-2, and 11-2 through all 3 match games.
Penelope Furnas '27 ran the longest match of the Cardinals wins at No. 3, going 3-1 against Zoe Reinert after Reinert won the first game 11-8. Furnas made a quick comeback and took the final four games 12-10, 11-5, and 11-6. At No. 4,
Aanya Anand '26 swept her match 3-0 as well against Lily Spencer. Anand went 11-9, 11-4, and 11-6.
Working out the bottom half of the lineup, all of whom swept their opponents 3-0,
Laila Kewalramani '24 at No. 6 picked up 11-2, 11-6, and 11-5 game wins against Chloe Lance.
Leandra Sze '26 defeated Chiara Nadel at No. 7, 11-2, 11-3, and 11-5.
Portia Pliam '25 won all three of her games 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 against Kathryn Swords at No. 8. And in the No. 9 spot,
Marangela James '24 finished Lamia Karabegovic with 11-5, 11-2, and 11-2 game wins.
In exhibition,
Julissa Mota '26 swept Aliana Potter 3-0, going 11-1, 11-2, and 11-3.
The Cardinals return to the court on Sunday, Jan. 21, when they host Haverford College at the Rosenbaum Squash Center beginning at 11 a.m.
