MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Picking up their fourth sweep of the season, the Wesleyan women's squash team defeated Haverford College 9-0 in a non-conference contest on Sunday afternoon from the Rosenbaum Squash Center.
RESULTS
Eight of the Cardinals' (8-5 overall) nine match wins were 3-0 sweeps of the Fords.
Avika Pande '26 went 3-1 against Haverford's Catherine Fortin, falling in the first game 11-7, but rallied back in the final three games, 11-4, 11-3, 11-2.
Making up the top portion of the lineup with Pande, at No. 1,
Mira Bakshi '26 defeated Ariana Selecki, 11-6, 11-2, and 11-3. At No. 3,
Penelope Furnas '27 went 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 against Emi Krishnamurthy.
Aanya Anand '26 in the No. 4 spot topped Zoe Liu 11-2, 11-3, 11-2. And at No. 5,
Jaclyn Dichter '26 won her third match of the weekend, putting together 11-1, 11-4, and 11-6 game wins against Amelia Stevens.
Beginning the second portion of the lineup,
Laila Kewalramani '24 beat Maya Johnson-Fraidin 11-4, 11-3, 11-2 at No. 6.
Leandra Sze '26 at No. 7 swept Matilda Chartener 11-4, 11-0, 11-1.
Portia Pliam '25 defeated Amy Saxon at No. 8, 11-3, 11-5, 11-5.
Marangela James '24 completed the lineup with 11-3, 11-3, and 11-5 game wins against Lily Matthews.
The Cardinals return to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 23, when they host Amherst in NESCAC action beginning at 5 p.m.
