MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's track & field team hosted the Wesleyan Indoor Invite on Saturday from the Bacon Field House. With Middlebury's New England Small College Invitational on Sunday, the Cardinals fielded a small squad at home on Saturday with a trip to the Track at New Balance in Boston on-deck.
With competitors fielded in just the 60m, 200m, 800m, 1000m, high jump, shot put, and weight throw,
Maya Nikoukari '26 and
Stella Loezos '27 placed highest for the team on the day, as both landed fourth place finishes in their respective events. Nikoukari clocked in at 2:43.20 in the 800m while Loezos crossed the line in 3:22.60 in the 1000m.
Rex Beaver '26 competed in both sprint events, placing 12
th in the 200m (28.98 seconds) and 13
th in the 60m (8.56).
Claire Edwards '24 took 13
th place in the shot put (9.00m) and 14
th in the weight throw (10.01m).
Emilia Thornton '24 placed 12
th in the weight throw (10.36m) while
Naomi McGadney '27 was 16
th in the shot put (8.83m).
Wesleyan travels to Boston overnight for the New England Small College Invitational which is set to begin at 9 AM on Sunday.
