BRUNSWICK, Me. – The Wesleyan men's squash team opened the year with a 9-0 defeat at Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals (3-5) remain winless when playing away from home this season while the Polar Bears (2-1) win in their first match in over a month.
The Cardinals competed on several courts, winning a set in three of the nine matches.
Toby Goldston '24,
Abhinav Gupta '26, and
Dhairya Shah '27 all won a set on their respective courts.
Goldston lost a 3-1 decision at #2 against Nick Wilkinson in a match that lasted 40 minutes with Goldston winning the second set 11-6. Gupta also won the second set of his match at #3 against Fotis Zafiriou while Shah did the same in his match at #5.
Jack Lungstrum '25 played well in his match at #9, winning 30 total points despite suffering a 3-0 defeat to Luciano Agudelo.
Wesleyan is back in action at Conn. College for a 2 PM start on Thursday.
