Box Score SARATOGA, N.Y. – Facing a weekend of hard-fought competition at the Skidmore Invitational, the Wesleyan men's tennis team was led by
Brett Keeling '27 and
Chase Kasday '26 with title win in the tournament's doubles mountain draw while Keeling and
Harry Collomb '26 were singles draw finalists.
Keeling and Kasday's final round victory in the doubles mountain draw came with a final 6-4 score as they defeated MIT's Grant Gallagher and Adam Sun. In another 6-4 win, the pair made work in the semifinal round over Hayes Gilbert and Rishi Verma of Swarthmore. Forced to a tiebreaker in the quarterfinal round, Keeling and Kasday got the final say over Bowdoin's Sujan Garapati and Jack Pollock in a 7-6 (7-5) final.
The doubles tournament was not the end of Keeling as he reached the final round of the singles Adirondack draw, ultimately falling to Bowdoin's Viktor Fraenkel in a second set tiebreaker, 2-6, 7-5 (9-11). Keeling's run began with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Bowdoin's Geoff Golan in the round of 16. Facing Swarthmore's Gilbert in the quarterfinal, Keeling came away with a 6-0, 6-3 win. MIT's Grant Gallagher was defeated in the semifinal round with a 6-4, 6-3 score before Keeling met Fraenkel in the finals.
Collomb's tournament run in the singles Saratoga draw was full of tiebreakers, including the final match, as Collomb fell to Cameron Zia of Bowdoin, in a 6-7 (6-8), 7-5 (5-10) final. Beating Bowdoin's Jackson Codd in the round of 16, 2-6, 6-0 (10-6), Collomb moved on to the quarterfinal round with Denison's Mason Conlin waiting. Collomb won with a 7-5, 6-3 (10-7) final score. Coming away with a clean two set win in the semifinal, Collomb defeated Williams' Leon Liu, 6-3, 6-4.
Also competing in the Saratoga draw,
Max Litton '26 reached a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) win over Williams' Jack Ling, but fell in the quarterfinal to Zia, 6-3, 2-6 (5-10). In the Skidmore draw,
Max Lustgarten '25 saw a 7-5, 4-6 (11-9) win over Skidmore's Yuval Goodman, but was defeated in the quarterfinal by MIT's Kailas Kahler, 1-6, 2-6.
The Cardinals return to action in 2025 when they open the spring season against Bowdoin on March 8 at home.
