MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Sweeping up the competition for the second game of the weekend, the Wesleyan men's squash team improved to 4-0 overall as they defeated Fordham University, 9-0, at home from the Rosenbaum Squash Center with three game sweeps at #2 and #6.
RESULTS
While the matches took a little longer than they did on Saturday, it was Morgan Shatzman '25 who clocked in a 3-0 sweep at 18 minutes, defeating Fordham's Charles Freidman in the #6 spot, 11-1, 11-5, 11-8. Dhairya Shah '27 was the only other sweep, downing Jack Stanley with 11-4, 11-8, 11-4, game wins at #2.
Sumer Ahluwalia '27 was quick to his feet, picking up a win in the first game but fell in game two to Nathan Martinez. Ahluwalia ran it back for two game wins and won the match 3-1, going 11-3, 7-11, 11-6, 11-4 at #7.
At #1, Abhinav Gupta '25 was the final Cardinal to close a victory under 30 minutes. Gupta fell in game two and pressed for two game wins in a row for the 3-1 win at 11-3, 7-11, 13-11, 11-8.
Ethan Yan '25, Preston Crawford '25 , Jack Lungstrum '25, Rafay Khan '27, and Stein '27 all finished victorious with 3-1 final scores.
The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 4, when they host Conn. College at home at 6 p.m.
