NORTHAMPTON, MA. – Led by
Jordan Walter '25 with a victory in the 1500m race, the Wesleyan women's track and field team made a quality showing on Friday and Saturday afternoon at the Smith College Carla Coffey Inviational. The Cardinals had five placements in the 1500m and came home with 19 Top 20 finishes.
RESULTS
Walter's final time of 4:45.67 won her the 1500m race on Saturday afternoon as she led a pack of Cardinals through the race.
Margaret Stevens '27 took sixth with a personal-best time of 4:52.35.
Alexandra Simon '27 was 14
th at 5:02.67. In 15
th was
Rose Halford '27 with a 5:04.62, a personal best time. And 20
th went to
Quinn Meinhardt '24 with a personal best 5:11.31.
Walter also placed second in the 800m event, running a 2:21.50. In 10
th place, was
Jane Kakalec '26 with a 2:29.18.
Oona Vali '27 was 16
th at 2:31.00. And in 27
th,
Stella Loezos '27 ran a 2:31.65.
Sophia Mack '26 placed 16
th in the 200m event with a final time of 27.13. Mack also placed in the 400m event, taking fifth with a personal best of 1:00.31.
Rachel Masterson '26 was 26
th at 1:05.01.
Crossing the line in sixth place in the 400m hurdles was
Kate Hausladen '23 with a personal best 1:06.19. 18
th place went to
Imagen Walters '26 at 1:11.97.
Fiona Carroll '25 placed seventh in the pole vault with a final height of 3.40m.
Claire Edwards '24 placed 12
th in the shotput, throwing for 9.77m. Edwards also placed fourth in the discus throw, finishing with a distance of 34.88m.
In the hammer throw,
Emilia Thornton '24 finished with a personal best 33.63m, good for 13
th. In the javelin throw, Thornton threw for 25.50m and took 10
th place.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 20, at the Trinity Invitational.
