HARTFORD, CT. – The Wesleyan women's track and field team had a top showing on Saturday at the Trinity Invitational as they cleared the day with 12 Top 10 finishes led by
Alexandra Simon '27 with a first-place finish in the 3000 Steeplechase.
Simon crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 11:34.84. She was tailed by
Nadia Lim '26 in fourth place with a final time of 11:56.15.
Juliette Sullivan '27 took second place in both the 100m and the long jump. Sullivan ran a 12.78 in the 100m before jumping a final distance of 5.07m.
Sophia Mack '26 placed eighth in the 200m with a personal-best time of 26.02. Sullivan was 10
th with a 26.40.
In the 800m, the Cardinals were led by
Jane Kakalec '26with a 14
th place, personal-best finish at 2:26.44.
Stella Loezos '27 was 15
th (2:26.53, personal best), and
Oona Vali '27 was 19
th (2:29.56).
Valie placed 12
th in the 1500m with a personal best 5:02.98.
Quinn Meinhardt '24 was 15
th (5:04.71, personal best).
Kate Hausladen '23 took third in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line at 1:06.87.
Imagen Walters '26 finished just two places behind her in fifth (1:08.59, personal best).
At pole vault,
Fiona Carroll '25 finished with a height of 3.25m, good for second place.
Placing 11
th with a distance of 9:59m was
Claire Edwards '24 in the shot put.
Rex Beaver '26 placed 16
th (8.75m).
Edwards hit the mark again, taking third in the discus throw, finishing at 36.20m.
Emelia Thornton '24 finished in 11
th in the women's hammer throw, going for 31.31m before placing 10
th in the javelin throw at 28.74m.
The Cardinals will spend the week prepping for the NESCAC Championships, beginning on Saturday, April 27.
