MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Graduate attack
Jack Raba '23 of the Wesleyan men's lacrosse team earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Raba's second NESCAC POW honor this season and of his career.
Leading the Cardinals to a pair of wins against ranked opponents, Raba totaled 10 points on four goals and six assists as Wesleyan defeated Amherst, 12-11, at home and Tufts, 16-14, on the road. Raba opened with one goal and three assists on Wednesday, helping Wesleyan defeat the Mammoths 12-11 and secure the Cardinals' first Little Three title since 2018. The graduate student followed up with three goals and three assists for six points, as Wesleyan became the first NESCAC team to beat the Jumbos in Medford since 2018. That was Raba's second hat trick of the season and fourth in his two-year career as a Cardinal.
Wesleyan is back on the road this week for a pair of NESCAC contests including an in-state showdown at Trinity on Wednesday (7 PM) followed by a Saturday afternoon title at Hamilton.
