MIDDLETOWN, CT. – After being shut out on Tuesday night, the Wesleyan men's squash team returned to the Rosenbaum Squash Center on Saturday afternoon to host No. 22 St. Lawrence University in a match that ended in a 6-3 defeat at the hands of St. Lawrence.
Rafay Khan '27 was the only match sweep for the Cardinals in the No. 9 position. Facing Henry Worden, Khan ran one of the quickest matches of the afternoon. While Worden pushed to the very end, Khan took all three games with 12-10, 11-6, 14-12 final scores.
At No. 4,
Preston Crawford '25 when five rounds with St. Lawrence's Harrison Callaway. Crawford fell in the first game 8-11 but rebounded and took games two and three, 11-3, 11-4. Callaway tried to mount his own comeback with a game four win at 10-12 but Crawford won out in the final game with a 11-8 tally.
The final match win for the Cardinals went to Zach Idinopulos '26 in the No. 8 spot. Idinopulos also played five games with Gavin Cassidy, the pairing volleying wins until the very end. Idinopulos fell in the first game 12-14 but took games two, four, and five, 11-5, 11-8, 13-11. Game three went to Cassidy, 9-11.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Jan. 17, when they host Haverford in the first round of the Wesleyan Round Robin at 4 p.m.
