LEWISTON, ME. – The Wesleyan men's squash team fell on the road in NESCAC action on Sunday afternoon to No. 24 Bates College, 9-0, from Bates' home squash center.
Facing their second ranked opponent in 24 hours, the Cardinals forced a fourth game through several of the afternoon matches but were unable to capitalize on the momentum. At #1,
Abhinav Gupta '25 cut the score with a 12-10 game three win, but Dennis Welte took the match, 3-1.
At #2,
Dhairya Shah '27 also took a win in game three, 11-7, however, Labeeb Ali was able to pull off a 3-1 match defeat with a fourth game victory.
Morgan Shatzman '25 tied his #6 match with a game two 11-9 win but was run out with a two-game streak by Angad Sethi for another 3-1 loss. Augustus Silverman defeated
Ian Stein '27 3-1 after Stein tied the match up at two with a 11-9 win at #9.
The Bobcats swept matches #3, #4, #5, #7, and #8, 3-0.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1, when they host Hamilton beginning at 11 a.m.
