MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's squash team opened the 2025-26 season with a convincing 8-1 win on Saturday afternoon from the Rosenbaum Squash Center. This marks the fourth straight win for the Cardinals (1-0) over the Bears.
A dominant showing saw the Cardinals land 3-0 wins in seven of the nine matches, six of which needed less than 20 minutes to finish.
Leandra Sze '26 dropped just six points in a 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 triumph at #5 while
Ellie Tiedemann '28 dropped just seven points in a 11-4, 11-3, 11-0 win at #8.
Frances Guenther '28 took down Maya Katzive at #6 in a 11-4, 11-6, 11-1 decision,
Caroline Caiati '28 defeated Alexis Dahlberg 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 at #7, and
Saara Saini '28 was victorious at #9 in a 11-3, 11-4, 11-6 win.
Jaclyn Dichter '26 was locked in a battle with Anne O'Connor at #3, with Dichter ultimately pulling out a 17-15, 11-8, 11-6 win that required several extra points in the first game.

Mira Bakshi '26 had a tremendous debut match to start her senior year, holding off Isabella Bin at #1 with a 15-13, 11-9, 5-11, 10-12, 11-8 win in a match that lasted 47 minutes.
The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday with a 10:30 AM start against Vassar in Middletown.
