Women’s Hockey Shut Out by Bowdoin, 2-0

MIDDLETOWN, CT. -  The Wesleyan women's ice hockey team fell in NESCAC action to Bowdoin College on Saturday afternoon in a 2-0 shutout from Spurrier-Snyder Arena.

Despite holding an offensive edge to the Polar Bears through the first period, it was the Polar Bears that scored first as the clock ticked through the second period of action. Meghan Britt scored the first goal for the Polar Bears as they neared the midway mark, assisted by Abigail Ainley.

The Polar Bears took a two-goal lead in the third period on the power play; the Cardinals called for cross checking. Luna Lu earns the tally with Emma Merrill on the assist.

Leading the offensive push for the Cardinals, Dylan Green '26 totaled five shots on goal while Aimee Seppenwolde '26 pushed for four shots from the top line. Lilly Place '29 won 11 draws from the circle, leading the Cardinals at the whistle.

In goal, Sami Smith '27 finished with 23 saves. Abby Matusovich earned the win with 30 saves.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Nov. 22, when they host Middlebury at 7:30 p.m.
