Men’s Cross Country Places 17th at NCAA Division III Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -  After qualifying as a team for the second year in a row, the Wesleyan men's cross country team earned a Top 20 finish at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship, placing 17th of 32 institutions on Saturday morning as they were led by senior Liam Calhoun '26 from the Milliken Research Park course.

Wisconsin La-Crosse once again took first place, earning the team title in the men's 8K with 82 points. Johns Hopkins' Emmanuel Leblond won the individual national title, placing first as he crossed the finish line with a time of 23:35.0.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Leading a squad of seven Cardinals, Calhoun was the top finisher for the Cardinals for a second-straight year. Besting his 2024 finish at 105 by 27 spots, Calhoun placed 78th and finished with a time of 25:07.4. Calhoun's 78th-place finish is the highest for a Cardinal since Will Dudek '17 placed 49th in 2017. Calhoun is a three-time All-Region selection, earning his third career honors this season.
  • Alex Kermath '26 finished at 107th, running a clocked time of 25:22.8. The two-time All-Region and All-New England honoree bested his previous finish at the national championship by 28 placements.
  • With the largest margin of improvement, Dylan Cote '28 ran a 25:30.6 for 123rd, jumping 165 spots from his finish in 2024. Cote is also a two-time All-Region and All-New England selection.
  • Noah Mahoney '27, running in his third national championship, placed 145th, crossing the line at 25:39.0, as he has continually improved since his freshmen qualifier. Mahoney is a three-time double regional honoree.
  • Placing 161st, Will Wise '26 carried himself to a finish at 25:44.4 and rounds out the Cardinals placing in the Top 200.
  • Alex Blumen '29 placed 247th with a time of 26:28.0 and was followed by Zach Allen '27 at 270, running a final 26:59.5.
