MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's basketball team completed their 2024-25 season on Saturday with a 65-49 loss to Colby in Silloway Gym. The Cardinals honored
Tori DaCosta '25 and
Maggie Smith '25 prior to the start of play in what was their final game for Wesleyan.

After going behind 5-0 early, the Cardinals responded with a 9-0 run that included a three-pointer from
Olivia Quinn '26, to take back the lead. The two teams traded baskets until the final 2:12 when the Mules used a 7-0 run to lead 19-13 after the first quarter.

Colby stretched their lead to double digits in the second quarter, but the Cardinals battled back and cut the deficit down to 32-24 at the half.

The first eight points of the second half were all scored by Colby, who held a 40-24 lead nearing the midway point of the third quarter. The Mules led by 20 in the fourth quarter before the Cardinals used a 9-0 run to close the deficit to 55-44 with 3:49 remaining. DaCosta keyed that run with back-to-back baskets but it wasn't enough in the end as Colby closed out the 65-49 win.

DaCosta led the Cardinals with 17 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes in her final game for Wesleyan.
Felicia Fongemie '27 also reached double figures with 10 points to go along with four assists. Quinn added eight points, seven rebounds, and three steals while
Alli Jones '27 recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
