CLERMONT, Fla. – The Wesleyan softball team completed another doubleheader sweep down in Florida, defeating Saint Joseph's (Maine) 11-0 in five innings and Penn State Behrend 5-0 on Friday morning from Hancock Park Field. The Cardinals (6-0) continued their best start to a season since 2010.
 
Abby Orso G'25 made history in game one against Saint Joseph's (Maine) as the graduate student tossed a five-inning no-hitter, allowing just three walks with 10 strikeouts to lead the Cardinals to the 11-0 win. Orso becomes the first Cardinal to throw a no-hitter since Karla Hargrave '08 blanked Hamilton back in 2006.
 
Orso's gem was backed up by a tremendous offensive display as the 11 runs are a new season-high for Wesleyan. Molly Lennon '26 went 2-for-3 with a home run, 5 RBI, and two runs scored from the leadoff spot while Lizzie Marino '25 and Waverly Smart '27 both reached base safely in all three plate appearances. Marino went 2-for-2 with one walk while Smart walked three times and scored three runs. Orso helped her own cause with a triple in one of her two at-bats while Isabella Secaira-Cotto '25 had two doubles and Cat Palmer '26 went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and one walk.
 
Wesleyan plated six runs in the first inning, sending 11 batters to the plate in the frame. Palmer had an RBI single while Secaira-Cotto and Nicole Celi '27 lofted sacrifice flies to score runs. Then with two outs, Lennon came through with a two-run single through the left side of the infield, making it 6-0 Cardinals.
 
Lennon had the big hit of the 3^rd inning as well, hitting a three-run shot to push Wesleyan out in front 9-0. Palmer tacked on another run with a two-out RBI single that scored Orso from third. Marino added the final run with an RBI single up the middle in the 4^th inning, while Orso closed the door on the no-hitter with a 1-2-3 5^th inning.
 
The Cardinals were gifted another gem in game two on Friday, as Jacelyn Lees '28 had everything working. The first-year tossed a complete game shutout with six hits allowed, no walks, and seven strikeouts, needing just 81 pitches to get through the game.
 
Lennon again had a stellar game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and 1 RBI while Lees went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, Jordynn Killion '27 went 2-for-3 with one double and 1 RBI, and Marino went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and one walk.
 
After two scoreless innings to start, Wesleyan loaded the bases in the 3^rd inning, getting three runs to ultimately score as Palmer drove one in with a sacrifice fly and Lees came through next with a two-run single to center that made it 3-0 Cardinals.
 
As Lees continued to mow through the Penn State Behrend lineup, the Cardinals tacked on another run as Lees hit a one-out single to center and then pinch runner Bella Tassone '24, G'25 scored all the way from first on a Killion RBI double to left.
 
Lees stranded two runners in scoring position in the top of the 6^th and then Lennon added an insurance run with an RBI double to center that scored Marino from first.
 
The first-year Lees finished the game off with her seventh strikeout in what was the first complete game and shutout in her career.
 
Wesleyan looks to keep the unbeaten run alive on Saturday with a doubleheader against Rutgers-Camden and New Paltz.
