Women’s Track and Field Takes on NYC Gotham Cup

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -  The Wesleyan women's track and field team spent Friday evening at the NYC Gotham Cup, competing against 25 institutions while led by Elanora Smith '27 with a first-place finish.

RESULTS

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Smith capped the weekend with a first-place finish in the women's 800 meter, crossing the finish line at 2:18.47.
  • Juliette Sullivan '27 saw a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a 25.72.
  • Marking a Top 5 performance with a finish in fifth, Virginia Lessner '28 ran a 4:10.60 in the mile race.
  • Closing in on 10:17.14 in the 3,000 meters, Chase Cerrell '28 crossed the line in fifth place.
  • The distance medley relay team placed second for the Cardinals, clocking in at 12:34.00.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, when they host the Wesleyan Indoor Invite II beginning at 10 a.m.
