No. 3 Hamilton Overwhelms Cardinals in 4-0 Shutout

CLINTON, N.Y. -   The Wesleyan men's hockey team fell in NESCAC action on Friday night, shut out 4-0 by No. 3 Hamilton College in the first of the weekend road games from Hamilton's Sage Rink.

Steadfast between the pipes for the Cardinals (6-11-0 overall, 5-6-0 NESCAC), Patrick McDevitt '28 anchored the defense all night with a season-high 41 saves. The Continentals (14-1-2 overall, 10-0-1 NESCAC) shook one on the sophomore goaltender in the early minutes of the opening period, John Wojciechowski was credited with the goal.

Ignited by the one-goal lead, the Continentals staged a two-goal lead in the second period as Max Bulawka tallied on the books. Wojciechowski closed the game with a late power-play goal in the third following Luke Tchor's goal just two minutes prior.

Connor Sutherland '27 finished the game with two shots and two blocks on the evening.

In goal for the Continentals, Aksel Reid saved 16 and took home the win.

The Cardinals return to action on Sunday, Jan. 31, when they face Amherst on the road with puck drop beginning at 3 p.m.
