Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Loss at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. -  The Wesleyan men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon, marking the third NESCAC loss of the season, while sophomore goalkeeper Simon Rebstock picked up four saves on the game. 

The Continentals (3-3-3 overall, 1-3-2 NESCAC) scored the lone goal of the match in the 42nd minute, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime as goal from Troy Miller broke behind Simon Rebstock. The Cardinals (5-3-1 overall, 1-3-0 NESCAC) applied consistent pressure in the second half, recording 11 of its 16 shots after the break.

With one of the best looks of the match, Nnamdi Emehelu '29 nearly put a header from the corner behind Montesano Scheibe as the clock ticked inside the final 10 minutes of regulation.

Rebstock made four saves to keep the Cardinals within one throughout the match. Continentals goalkeeper Montesano Scheibe turned aside three shots to hold the shutout.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they host Colby at 2 p.m.
