MIDDLETOWN, CT. - As the regular season winds down, the Wesleyan men's tennis team played host to No. 3 Tufts University on Sunday afternoon, falling in conference action 7-0 through the final home match of the regular season from inside the Bacon Field House.
While the Jumbos clinched the doubles point with a complete 3-0 across all matches, the Cardinals forced extra points at No. 1 and No. 2.
Chase Burke '29 and
Harry Collomb '26 to Alex Ganchev and Sacha Maes to a 5-7 final while
Chase Kasday '26 and
Ryuto Saito '29 also finished 5-7 against Andrej Djokic and Kaetan Mehta.
Seated at No. 1 through singles play, Collomb faced Ganchev for a second time, leading midway through set two before Ganchev caught him and won 6-3, 6-4.
Tai MacDonald '26 finished with a near identical score at No. 5, playing Stavros Mastrogamvrakis to a 6-4, 6-3 win for the Jumbos.
The Cardinals return Saturday, April 25, when they face Amherst on the road beginning at 2 p.m.
