MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Senior goalkeeper Izzy Weintarub of the Wesleyan women's lacrosse team was named NESCAC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Weintraub's second career Player of the Week honor.
Weintraub matched her career-high with 12 saves while allowing just three goals for a .800 save percentage as the Cardinals defeated Williams 11-3 to secure the 2026 Little Three Championship. Weintraub and the Cardinal defense held Williams scoreless for two full quarters and 43+ consecutive minutes, making seven straight saves in the process. Wesleyan held Williams to its lowest goal total of the season and in the 51 all-time meetings in the series. Weintraub added two ground balls and has a .500 save percentage in four of the last five games. She lowered her goals-against average to 6.05 on the year while her save percentage is .512 through 14 games this year.
The Cardinals (12-2, 7-2 NESCAC) finish the regular season on Wednesday at Conn. College before playing host to a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday with the team's opponent to be determined late Wednesday night.
