MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Wesleyan women's lacrosse senior goalkeeper
Izzy Weintraub '26 was named the National Division III Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the association on Tuesday afternoon. This announcement comes on the heels of Weintraub earning NESCAC Player of the Week honors on Monday.
The two-time All-American shined on Saturday in the Cardinals' lone game last week, matching her career-high with 12 saves and just three goals allowed in a 11-3 win over Williams that clinched the 2026 Little Three Championship for Wesleyan. Weintraub and the Cardinal defense held Williams scoreless for two full quarters and 43+ consecutive minutes, making seven straight saves in the process. Wesleyan held Williams to its lowest goal total of the season and in the 51 all-time meetings in the series. Weintraub added two ground balls and has a .500 save percentage in four of the last five games. She lowered her goals-against average to 6.05 on the year while her save percentage is .512 through 14 games this year.
Weintraub and the Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday night with the regular season finale at Conn. College.
