Four Cardinals Named Second Team All-NESCAC

Ben Burns, Charlie Wilmot, Will Miller, and James Bailey all make All-NESCAC Second Team

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Four members of the Wesleyan men's lacrosse team made it onto the All-NESCAC Second Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday morning. Making the list from Wesleyan is Ben Burns '26, Charlie Wilmot '26, Will Miller '26, and James Bailey '26.
 
Burns joins an elite few of Wesleyan attackman who've made three All-NESCAC Teams over the course of their careers. This is Burns' third straight All-NESCAC Second Team distinction, as he joins a list that includes just two names in Harry Stanton '18 and Russ Follansbee '09, as the only Cardinal attackman to make three All-NESCAC Teams.
 
Both Wilmot and Bailey are Second Team selections for the second straight season while Miller makes an All-NESCAC Team for the first time in his career.

Ben Burns '26 | Senior | Attack | Second Team

Ben Burns

A goal-scoring specialist on attack, Burns has 28 goals through 11 games this season. He ranked inside the Top 10 in the NESCAC in goals per game (2.55) and shots per game (8.18) and has six hat tricks including a pair of five-goal games against Little Three rivals Amherst and Williams. Burns has overcome injury this season, as the senior missed five games through the course of the year, and still ranks second on the team in goals. He currently ranks fifth all-time at Wesleyan with 143 career goals.

Charlie Wilmot '26 | Senior | Short Stick Midfield | Second Team

Charlie Wilmot

Wilmot is a workhorse for the Cardinals, a team captain and constant presence on the wing in faceoff units and in the defensive midfield. Through 15 games this season, Wilmot has a single-season career-high 37 ground balls to go along with five caused turnovers while he's added one goal and five assists for six points. He's tied his career-high with five ground balls twice this season while Wilmot hasn't missed a game, continuing his streak of 68 straight appearances, never missing a game during his four-year career.

Will Miller '26 | Senior | Midfield | Second Team
 

Will Miller

Miller picked up where he left off last season, producing another productive season on offense as the senior makes All-NESCAC for the first time in his career. The team's leader in points and goals this year, Miller has 30 goals and 12 assists for 42 points through 15 appearances (all starts) for the Cardinals. He has at least one point in all 15 games in 2026 and has scored at least once in 14-of-15 games including an active streak of 12 straight game with a goal. Miller scored four goals twice this year and had a season-high six points in an OT win over Stevens.


James Bailey '26 | Senior | Midfield | Second Team

James Bailey

Bailey makes the All-NESCAC Second Team for a second straight year as he continues to produce as a primary playmaker for the Cardinal attack. Through 13 games (all starts), Bailey has 16 goals and a team-leading 20 assists for 36 points. He ranked fifth in the NESCAC in assists per game (1.54) and ranks inside the Top 10 in program history with 84 career assists. Bailey has at least one point in all 13 of his appearances this season while he's produced two hat tricks and four games with 3+ assists.
