MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Wesleyan men's lacrosse senior attackman
Ben Burns '26 earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first Player of the Week award in Burns' career while he is the first Cardinal to win the individual honor this season.
Returning to the lineup from injury, Burns totaled nine goals and one assist for 10 points in two home wins for Wesleyan last week. The senior started with a five-goal game, adding one assist for six points in a 16-4 win over No. 16 Amherst. It was the largest Cardinal win over the Mammoths in the series history (69 all-time games). Burns added a four-goal outburst against No. 14 Middlebury as the Cardinals led wire-to-wire in a 14-6 victory on Saturday.
Wesleyan heads on the road for two NESCAC games this week, starting on Wednesday night with a 7 PM start at Trinity.
