Four Cardinals Recognized on USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American List

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Four members of the Wesleyan men's lacrosse team were named All-Americans by USA Lacrosse Magazine, as announced on Wednesday afternoon. Representing the Cardinals on the list is Third Team selections Charlie Wilmot '26 and Joe Hurton '27 while Will Miller '26 and James Bailey '26 are Honorable Mentions. After being an Honorable Mention last season, Wilmot earns his first career All-American honor, earning a spot on the Third Team at the short-stick defensive midfield position. A key figure on the wing in the Cardinals' face off unit, Wilmot has 41 ground balls this year, third-most on the team and second-most among non-faceoff specialists. He also has six caused turnovers and eight points on two goals and six assists while appearing in all 17 games. A workhorse over his career, Wilmot hasn't missed a game in his time at Wesleyan, appearing in all 70 possible games.
 
Hurton is an All-American for the first time in his career, earning a Third Team nod at the long stick midfield position. Hurton leads the team with 32 caused turnovers while his 43 ground balls are the most among non-faceoff specialists on the roster. Hurton has at least two caused turnovers in 9-of-17 games this season while he shined in wins over Vassar (six caused turnovers, five ground balls) and Amherst (four caused turnovers, four ground balls).
 
Miller has a team-leading 35 goals to go along with 12 assists for 47 points this season. The two-time Honorable Mention has at least one point in all 17 games while he's scored at least once in 16-of-17 games. Miller has six hat tricks while he posted six points (four goals, two assists) in an OT home win over Stevens.
 
Bailey leads the Cardinals with 21 assists, adding 17 goals for 38 points in 15 games played this year. He has at least one point in 14-of-15 appearances and has five multi-goal games while he has at least five points three times this year. He is an Honorable Mention for the first time in his career.
 
Wesleyan (13-4) is back in action on Saturday in the Quarterfinal Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals travel to Tufts to face No. 5 Christopher Newport in a neutral site contest on Saturday at 7:30 PM. The winner advances to the NCAA Semifinal round on Sunday at 7:30 PM on Bello Field in Medford.
