Four Cardinals Named IWLCA All-Americans

This marks the third straight year and fourth season in team history where four Cardinals earn All-American honors

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's lacrosse team has four players listed on the IWLCA All-American list, as announced by the association on Friday morning. The Cardinals are represented by First Team selections Izzy Weintraub '26 and Lindsey Diomede '26 while Molly Simon '26 made the Second Team and Addie Cummings '26 is a Third Team selection.

This marks the third straight season and fourth time in team history wherein the Cardinals have four All-American honorees. Weintraub is the program's fourth Cardinal to earn three All-American honors during their career while Diomede, Simon, and Cummings each make the list for the first time. Weintraub, now a three-time All-American, graduates as one of the most-decorated Cardinals in program history. A stalwart in the cage for Wesleyan all four years, Weintraub is having the best season of her career in 2026. Through 21 games, Weintraub heads into the Final Four with a 5.97 goals against average and .518 save percentage, both of which are the best single-season numbers of her career. She has started 62 consecutive games for Wesleyan and has been at her best across the NCAA Tournament, shining last weekend with a career-high 12-save performance in the 14-7 win over UChicago while posting six saves in a 7-5 Quarterfinal triumph over Trinity.

Diomede has broken out in 2026 with the best single-season of any Wesleyan defensive player in program history. The senior midfielder has shattered the single-season team records in both caused turnovers (77) and ground balls (62) while adding 53 draw controls and 14 points. The previous single-season team for caused turnovers was 38 while she has at least two caused turnovers in 18-of-21 games this season. Diomede has been named the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week two weeks straight heading into the Final Four.

Simon headlines a defensive unit that is one of the best in the nation as the senior defender earns All-American recognition for the first time in her career. She ranks second on the team with 34 caused turnovers to go along with 32 ground balls. Simon has started 62 straight games heading into the Final Four as her presence on the defensive end has played a key role in Wesleyan's defense which allows less than six goals per game.

Cummings leads the Cardinals in goals (45) and points (62) while ranking second on the team in assists (17) as her game has grown immensely over the past two seasons. The first-time All-American has 13 multi-goal games in 2026 while she has a nine-point game to her name this year and has at least one point in 20-of-21 games played. After recording just one point in 11 games over her first two seasons at Wesleyan, Cummings has 100 points in 41 games the past two years.

Wesleyan (18-3) squares off against Salisbury (20-0) at 3 PM on Friday in the NCAA Semifinals at Judson Stadium on the campus of RIT.
