SPRINGFIELD, MA. – Alexandra Simon '27 of the Wesleyan women's track and field team had a standout performance at the 2026 New England DIII Championships on Saturday afternoon, winning the steeplechase as Wesleyan placed 12
th out of 38 teams at Springfield College's Blake Track.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Conn. College won the 2026 New England DIII Championship with 100 points. The Cardinals finished with 22 points in 12th place.
- Simon's victory in the 3000m steeplechase was the highlight of the weekend for the Cardinals, crossing the finish line with a final time of 11:10.17. Simon has led the Cardinals in the event all season.
- The 4x800m relay team of Elanora Smith '27, Ellie Green '28, Kaitlyn Connors '29, and Genevieve Minard '28 placed second with a combined time of 9:36.05.
- Amelia Goettsch '29, Sophia Mack '26, Alyssa Fix '29, and Sydni Chandler '29 placed eighth in the 4x400m relay, running a 4:07.27.
- Another eighth-place finish went to Smith in the 800 as she clocked a final time of 2:16.74.
- In the 1500m, Connors led all Cardinals with a seventh-place finish at 4:46.65. Stephanie Ager '26 followed in 10th place with a 4:49.34.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, May 8, for the Farley Inter Regional at Williams College.
