MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) announces its annual Empacher-Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Scholar Athlete list, and 15 Wesleyan men's crew student-athletes were honored. 

In order to reach Scholar Athlete status, rowers and coxswains must have met the following criteria:

• Athletes from all IRCA member schools are eligible
• Athletes must be in their second year or more of eligibility
• Athlete must have competed in their program's top 3 boats during the 2025-26 season or raced at the 2026 IRA National Championship
• Athletes must have, at least, a 3.50 cumulative GPA through the fall 2025 semester

The Cardinals saw 15 student-athletes earn the honor: Ro Barrett '26, Brett Beaman '26, Nelson Bellows '26, Pierce Buckner-Wolfson '26, Rowan Cahill '26, Ben Fischer '27, Drew Hinton '28, Asher Israel '26, Thomas Jamison '28, Tor Kushner '27, Will McNally '27, Sam Penn '28, Cory Reavy '26, Eli Smirin '26, and Ben Vyzas '28.
